A music cave, a real temple of sound…this is AghaRTA Jazz Centrum, Prague’s most popular jazz club. With a unique interior and gigs on a daily basis, it’s one of the country’s most visited music venues.
There’s plenty of music clubs around, but not many have the personality and breath-taking look of Prague‘s AghaRTA Jazz Centrum. The basement, made into a music joint, is one of the Czech Republic‘s most vibrant nightspot. A bar that impresses for both its design and wide selection of drinks, a music shop where visitors can find albums by performing artists and the main stage, combine to make AghaRTA a club with a capital ‘C’.
Open since 29 September 1991, the day following the death of one of the pioneers and innovators of modern jazz Miles Davis (and named after his album from the 1970s), AghaRTA Jazz Centrum has presented live music on a daily basis ever since. Its jazz activities also include the annual AghaRTA Prague Jazz Festival.
While the programme is filled with gigs by top Czech musicians, the venue also attracts artists from all over the world. During its successful career, AghaRTA has hosted shows by international stars like Chick Corea, Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Wayne Shorter and Maceo Parker.
Stop by whenever suits you the best, because one thing is guaranteed: no matter when you go at AghaRTA, you’re going to experience jazz in atmosphere you won’t find elsewhere. Pop in for a drink in an historical location for some hot live jazz, you’ll love this place folks!
