The 606 is considered to be one of the best jazz clubs in Europe, and one of London’s oldest having been around since 1976.
‘The 6’, as it’s affectionately called by regulars, is a well known musicians haunt and it is not uncommon for informal jam sessions to happen here with friends who have come down from gigs elsewhere. As well as members, musicians and local residents the Club appeals to anyone looking for a late night supper while enjoying some live jazz – it reaches a cross section, both young and old.
The Club currently employs 2 bands a night Tuesday to Wednesday and one Band Thursday to Monday, a total of 10 bands a week, which makes it the biggest employer of British based jazz and related music artists in the country. With live jazz seven nights a week and Sundays being the special ‘singers’ night, every night can be the best night.
