The Iridium Jazz Club draws big crowds for its top-flight jazz acts. The week long stints feature a range of hard-core jazz, often with international names attached. The site of Les Paul’s weekly Monday gig until his passing, has become know as ‘The House that Les Paul built’. If you didn’t know of him, you should. You’ve certainly heard his invention, the electric guitar, that has graced many a stage and has formed musical fabric of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The club itself honors his memory by keeping up his Monday night gigs with the The Les Paul Trio, special guests performing the guitar include Todd Rundgren, Jeff Beck and Steve Miller among may others.
Having gone through renovations over its almost 20 year history, it now resides on Broadway, pulling in the jazz fans with its great lineups, 7 nights a week.
The club also live streams the gigs to jazz fans across the globe. We’ve managed to embed the streams below but check out the gig list for timings.
We’ll be reviewing this club in full when we’re in New York this year so stay tuned.
